We provide free-flow light snacks for all tournaments, while drinks may be purchased at our venue at affordable prices via PayNow or cash. Some longer tournaments will have catered food as well.

Your can bring a water bottle and jacket for the tournament

As we would like to reserve our waiting room for players, parents will generally not be allowed to remain in the clubhouse during the tournament. Please drop off your kids and come back for the prize presentation or at the end of the event. However, if the number of players for a given tournament is 20 or fewer, parents will be allowed to wait in our waiting room.

Unless otherwise stated, there is no age requirement to participate, with the bulk of our players usually aged 7-45.

Please inform us at least 5 days before the tournament begins and we may allow you to reschedule your ticket to the next available tournament.

The Chess.sg Clubhouse is conveniently located at Bukit Timah Shopping Centre, #18-01. It’s a short 2 minute sheltered walk from Beauty World MRT Station without the need to cross any roads.

A FIDE ID is a number that all players need to register and participate in rated chess tournaments globally. Please find out more, including how to obtain one, at chess.sg/fide-id.

This is not necessary as our venue is equipped with everything your child could need, including snacks, a toilet, and a waiting area. However, they are recommended to bring a water bottle as bottled water and drinks are only available as a purchase.

You should arrive between the “Doors Open” timing and the “Round 1” timing. If you are early, you would typically be allowed to enter and relax in the waiting room before the tournament starts. When you reach, there is no need to register. Players may proceed straight to their boards (which will be shown on the screen) and parents may enter the premise and ensure their kids are well settled-in. Parents will be requested to leave when the first round begins.

Please let us know in advance so our arbiters can unpair you for the round. You will either receive a 0.5 point bye or 0 points for that round, depending on the circumstances.
